The treatment of stage III lung cancer is evolving. Recent clinical study showed improvement in outcome when check point inhibitor antibody immunotherapy is used in the treatment of stage III lung cancer. How to integrate immunotherapy and other novel agents with radiation therapy and surgery in stage III lung cancer is still undefined. The symposium will review the progress in the field of immune-oncology and ongoing trials in stage III disease.

Treatment of curable and recurrent Head and Neck cancer is achieved by multimodality approach. The symposium will review surgical and chemotherapy approach in curable Head & Neck cancer and the issue of re-radiation and novel agents in recurrent disease.

This event will take place at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel.


Upon completion of this course the participant should be able to:
  1. Recite prior clinical studies in stage III lung cancer;
  2. Learn about the data on use of immunotherapy in stage III lung cancer;
  3. Review recent studies integrating immunotherapy with radiation and surgery;
  4. Identify appropriate patients for re-irradiation and learn about novel agents in the treatment of recurrent disease;
  5. Discuss the indications of surgery and chemotherapy in curable disease;
  6. Identify new treatment options in small cell lung cancer.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY

A full refund of registration fees, less a $15 administrative fee, will be available if requested in writing and received by March 30, 2018. No refunds will be made after that date. A $30 fee also will be charged for returned checks. (Please note that if you fail to cancel by the deadline and do not attend, you are still responsible for payment.) KU Medical Center Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel the course and return all fees in the event of insufficient registration. The liability of the University of Kansas Medical Center is limited to the registration fee. The University of Kansas Medical Center will not be responsible for any losses incurred by registrants, including but not limited to airline cancellation charges or hotel deposits.
