Medical technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace; ENT practitioners may lack occasion to utilize new technologies in a practice setting.  As technology advances, in-office procedures are integral to a thriving medical practice.  There may be an inadequate availability of tools necessary to integrate these procedures into practice.  As technology advances, in-office procedures are integral to a thriving medical practice. There may be an inadequate availability of tools necessary to integrate these procedures into practice.  Providers have opportunity to learn theories of developing technologies, but direct experience is irreplaceable to successful integration outcomes.  As American Thyroid Association’s guidelines on evaluation and treatment of thyroid disease changed in 2015, practitioners need to understand the applications of the new guidelines to surgical innovations in thyroid surgery.

Upon completion of this course the participant should be able to:
  1. Identify current and emerging technology for the practice of in-office procedures in an ENT setting.
  2. Provide exposure to new and developing techniques for in-office ENT procedures.
  3. Overview legislative, operative, and cultural developments in healthcare reimbursement and insurance provision.
  4. Detail the best practices for medical coding ENT in-office procedures.
  5. Offer hands-on exposure to the latest techniques and equipment in ENT practice.
  6. Describe best practices to state of the art surgical approaches to thyroid disease and office based ultrasound.
