Course Registration


This is a multi-disciplinary radiology course addressing issues in body, thoracic, musculoskeletal, neurologic, ultrasound imaging and non-interpretive content.  This course will include discussion of the most current techniques in each of these specialized imaging areas.


Upon completion of this course the participant should be able to:
  1. Discuss radiographic anatomical and pathophysiological considerations that impact decision- making in sino-nasal surgical interventions
  2. Identify common lesions encountered on female pelvic MRI
  3. Discuss key MR imaging features of the main benign and malignant lesions that can be encountered on MRI of the female pelvis
  4. Describe pertinent radiographic anatomy and imaging techniques utilized in the diagnosis and management of neurovascular compression syndromes
  5. Describe the typical imaging features of papillary renal cell carcinoma and discuss their differentiation from clear cell renal cell carcinoma on CT and MRI
  6. Identify means of effective communication in the radiology report and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of new reporting methods
  7. Discuss the causes, important complications, and key imaging features of acute aortic syndrome
  8. Describe the different forms of acute traumatic aortic injury and explain the characteristics of these injuries which need to be communicated in radiology reports
  9. Describe the various forms of ultrasound elastography and discuss commonly encountered pitfalls in its use in daily practice
  10. Discuss the standard thyroid ultrasound reporting lexicon and the American Thyroid Association’s recommendations for risk-stratifying nodules based upon sonographic features
  11. Describe the MR imaging manifestations of common and uncommon disease processes involving the biliary tree, as well as imaging mimics
  12. Discuss the importance of cardiac evaluation on routine chest CT imaging and describe the spectrum of commonly encountered abnormalities
  13. Describe the newly revised LIRADS system of hepatic lesion characterization and its use in reducing variability in interpretation, enhancing communication with referring physicians, and facilitating research
  14. Identify common incidental pancreatic lesions detected on CT and MRI and discuss current management of these lesions and appropriate imaging follow-up
  15. Identify common incidental adrenal lesions on CT and MRI
  16. Discuss the current management of incidental adrenal lesions and appropriate ways to further manage or follow-up these lesions

FEES

Payment is required at the time of registration. Only registrations accompanied with payment will be accepted. Please register in advance. Fees include course materials, continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments and continuing education credit.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY

A full refund of registration fees, less a $15 administrative fee, will be available if requested in writing and received by September 29, 2017. No refunds will be made after that date. A $30 fee also will be charged for returned checks. (Please note that if you fail to cancel by the deadline and do not attend, you are still responsible for payment.) KU Medical Center Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel the course and return all fees in the event of insufficient registration. The liability of the University of Kansas Medical Center is limited to the registration fee. The University of Kansas Medical Center will not be responsible for any losses incurred by registrants, including but not limited to airline cancellation charges or hotel deposits.
